Droop-Based Economic Dispatch for Islanded Microgrids

Analytical dispatch method coupling droop control with economic dispatch for autonomous microgrid operation under renewable generation and demand response.

Validated on a modified 33-bus islanded microgrid over a 24-hour horizon: equal incremental cost in 23 of 24 hours, with 190.89 kWh of demand curtailment under an $868.80 daily incentive budget.

Closed-Form Locational Pricing for Mobile Energy Storage

Analytical dispatch framework coordinating mobile storage across coupled transportation and power networks, relevant to EV-fleet-as-storage and grid-support use cases. The closed-form rule needs only one AC power-flow evaluation per coordination step, eliminating iterative station-level optimization.

On the coupled Sioux Falls/33-bus testbed, recovered 44.7% of EV-induced voltage drop and cut active power losses by 24.2%; converges in 4-92 iterations.

Tiger Footprint Optimization

A new population-based metaheuristic for constrained, non-convex engineering optimization, the class of problem behind dispatch, siting, and sizing using adaptive probe placement and adaptive step scaling. Four convergence theorems proved.

Benchmarked against PSO, DE, and GWO on twelve standard functions in 10D/30D; avoided PSO's scaling collapse (1.42 → 26,100 for PSO vs. 0.65 → 14.0 for TFO), and validated on a six-unit economic dispatch benchmark reaching a feasible $15,276/h solution.
